Five Time Canadian Olympian (Athletics) Charmaine Crooks, B.A is a Member of the Order of Canada (C.M). and a long serving advocate for sport and Athletes in Canada and internationally.
A corporate director, she also serves on a variety of Boards focusing on sport, innovation, wellness and community. She is co-founder of the 365 International Sport Foundation.
Based in West Vancouver, she founded NGU Consultants Inc (1994), a global consultancy and management firm, which provides strategic cross- sectional advisory services to a variety of business sectors including major events.
Former Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Five-Time Olympian and Olympic Silver Medalist (LA ‘84) in Athletics. She served on the IOC Press Commission, IOC Athlete’s Commission, IOC Culture and Education Commission, New Media working group, IOC 2000 Reform Commission and was on the founding IOC Ethics Committee.
As one of the founding board Members of the 2010 Olympic Winter and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC), she was the only member to serve from the initial Bid in 1998 phase through to the successful end of the Games. Also a longstanding former elected member of the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) executive recent member of the Canadian Soccer Association and Olympians Canada.
Charmaine is inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame and the University of Texas El Paso Sports Hall of Fame, where she attended on a full Athletic scholarship. She has received numerous including the “IOC Women in Sport Trophy” and was named BC “Top 40 under 40” and one of the “Top 50 Women of Power” in Canada.
Charmaine is a free-lance TV host and producer and is former co-host of “Cycle”– Canada’s first national TV series on cycling and fitness.
